A Spring Garden Wedding at Washington Golf & Country Club
THE PALETTE
Stephanie and Luke married at four o'clock on St. Patrick's Day, in a pavilion at Washington Golf & Country Club that was already full of early-spring light. The brief called for something that felt like the season itself: fresh, unforced, and full of the color you'd find in a garden just waking up.
We built the day around a collected-vase design — daffodils, delphinium, tulips, and garden roses gathered in clusters of bud vases down every reception table, so no two settings were quite alike. On the balcony overlooking the course, a ceremony arch of baby's breath and garden roses framed the vows against the open sky.
The wedding party carried the palette outward: six bouquets in the bridesmaids' hands, baby's breath against pale blue, and at the centre a hand-tied bouquet threaded with delphinium, thistle and trailing greenery. The details ran it through to the last look — jewel-toned cake florals finished with butterflies, and spring stems tucked wherever a guest might pause.
